This 2009 is Cafe Tacuba’s 20th anniversary.
After being on the “SINO” tour these past moths, they’re taking a short break to prepare what will become the new celebration tour, having in mind such cities as: Caracas, Venezuela; Bogota, Colombia; Quito, Ecuador; Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; La Habana, Cuba; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, USA; Mexico City, Querétaro, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Tijuana, México; London, UK; and Barcelona, Spain.
And what better whay of celebrating than this:
* Café Tacuba’s 20th birthday is this year, just as the Cuban Revolution’s 50th aniversary, and they’ll be celebrating both events at the same time.
* They are gliding to publish a couple of books. The first one it’s been worked by Rubén (lead vocals) based on graphs, with the special help of Román Martínez.
The second one is a biographic and conversations work, with Enrique Blanc’s special contribution.
* At the same time a documentary has been preparing from the band’s latest visit to Japan of their “SINO” tour, and it has become much bigger due to the tour dates in several other countries, such as those ones in Southamerica, the USA and Spain, amongst others. It will also contain some important historical moments the band has been thru.
A lot they’ve received from their fans all over the globein this fast 20 years. Now’s the time to give some love back!!
